Blackened Rose was founded by the vocalist Aleksei Iagunkov at the end of 2022, combining the sexiness and melancholic beauty of gothic metal with the fun and charisma of 80’s inspired hard rock.

Over time, the influence of bands like Type O Negative, HIM, Whitesnake, The 69 Eyes and Opeth shaped the distinctive and unique sound of Blackened Rose. Blackened Rose has played numerous shows across Australia including working with Battlegod Productions, Metal Evilution (as part of their Metal on the Northside concert series) and Black Roos Entertainment (Metal United Down Under festival).

Blackened Rose continue to share the stage with notable bands like Temtris, Pyrefly, Snake Bite Whisky, Miruthan, Department of Gloom, Death Chemist (NZ), T-Rex Autopsy and many more. After the emotion-laden, powerful single ‘Crimson Red Snow,’ released earlier this year, Blackened Rose have another single for lovers of tracks with multiple layers and an unhinged guitar solo! ‘Love of the Serpentine Eye’ was released July 3rd, 2026.
