Cryptic Confinement is an instrumental metal collaboration founded by Zakk Weathersby in Dallas, TX. The first Cryptic Confinement album Wrath Of The Morning Star was released in 2018.

Although Zakk has collaborated with several musicians from Dallas and the rest of the world, he remains the sole official member of the project.
In 2023 the project was picked up by Latvian record label Sliptrick records and Zakk commenced production of the third Cryptic Confinement album titled Tempestuous Demise.

Tempestuous Demise features collaborations from some of Europe’s finest up and coming metal musicians including Ukrainian drummer Lycane Graven of the band Colotyphus and Paganland, U.K. bassist and multi-instrumentalist Rich Gray known for his work in Annihilator and Aeon Zen and Fabio Allesandrini also of Annihilator fame.
