Divinist is a three piece doom band from western Pennsylvania, formed in 2021 by remaining members of the death metal band Swallowed by the Earth.

With deep influences from classic doom, psychedelic rock, black and death metal they can be seen as experimental with their sound, yet never compromising in brutality. With thick down tuned walls of guitar and bass fuzz, pained guttural vocals and drum patterns that go from tribal to full on machine gun assault, the group relentlessly pummels listeners into submission with a heavy drone-esque hypnotizing quality, then doubles down on their roots with a Hellish combination of old school death metal and fuzzed out doom.

Their debut self titled album was released March 3rd, 2023 and instead of booking shows for the summer they’ve hit the grind stone even harder to push towards another crushing release later this year.
