Washington D.C. Area Female-Fronted Doom Metal Visionaries, Fight of Odin blend melodic doom metal, psychedelic atmospheres, classical influences, and progressive rock sensibilities, carving out a sound that defies easy categorization.
Their latest offering, “I Traveled the Crooked Path” takes listeners on a journey through shadowed corridors of emotion, myth, introspection, and transcendence, showcasing a band that continues to evolve while remaining true to its distinctive artistic vision.
Founded in 2015 by vocalist and songwriter Xyra, bassist/keyboardist and executive producer Andrew Cann, drummer Kenny Finger, and guitarist Mike Karagiannis, Flight of Odin has steadily built an impressive discography.

Disc 1 “The Crooked Path (2026)
Xyra H-Cann (aka Angel): Founder, vocalist/lyricist/songwriter.
Xyra was born in Munich Germany to American military parents and later grew up in the Washington DC area. She began piano lessons at age 6 and voice at 8. Expanding her horizons, Xyra joined her first rock band at age 15. As an adult she studied with the Director of Music Theater at Levine School of Music, among other expert vocal coaches. Xyra enjoys Romantic-era classical music, psychedelic, Goth, virtuoso guitar-based rock, and Doom Metal genres. In other roles, Xyra hosted FM radio shows for Washington DC stations WGTB and WAMU, programming music and interviewing celebrities. She also worked as a photojournalist and wrote for various online and print publications.
Andrew Cann: Keyboardist/bassist/composer, and executive producer.
London-born, Andrew began music theory and classical piano studies from age 6 at the Watford School of Music in Watford, England. He later continued piano studies along with classical guitar at the Levine School of Music. Andrew has been an avid fan of Heavy Metal since his teens and has seen many of the iconic bands from that genre live in concert. His bass of choice, he named ZARNOK… is a 5-string killer multi-scale designed by Dingwall. He and wife Xyra have collaborated original music since the mid-1990s, across 10 music releases.
Kenny Finger: Drummer/percussionist/composer.
Kenny was born in Great Falls Virginia but grew up on a farm in Kansas. He began his musical education with violin and trumpet before focusing on percussion. Kenny is a huge fan of Tool, and IronMaiden, favors Doom but is fluent in about every Metal sub-genre. Being a core contributor to the band, when not doing all things Flight of Odin, Kenny works on unusual drumming techniques and organizes drum circle events in Loudoun County Virginia and the Washington DC Metropolitan area.
Tyler Beddow: Guitarist/composer.
From Waterford Virginia, Tyler began guitar lessons at age 10 and has since developed exceptional musical intuition, and advanced technical skills. He joined the band in 2024, bringing influences from Metal and Prog to Space Rock and Psychedelic genres. Tyler listens to all forms of Metal, also appreciating classic artists such as Robert Fripp, Phil Manzanara, David Gilmore, Jimmy Page, and Jeff Beck. Influences aside, Tyler’s style is unmistakably his own. Contributing both 6-string, and 7-string baritone electric guitars to Flight of Odin, Tyler adds a unique approach that ties together perfectly the band’s signature sound.
Disc 2 “Goddess in Smoke” (2024)
Andy Paul: lead 6-string guitar/director (Originally from Eastern Europe, Andy was lead player with the Republic of Moldova band, Utopia. He has performed classical guitar at the Kennedy Center but mostly focuses on playing hard rock.)
Dan Kolcun: 6 & 12-string guitars (Dan is a seasoned musician from Northern Virginia who performs with several bands. A retired US Army officer, Dan teaches guitar to wounded US military vets in his spare time.)
Chelle Fulk: acoustic and electric violin (Chelle grew up on a horse farm in Middleburg Virginia. She is founder of the band Music by Anthem, and has also performed with classical orchestras, Celtic, and jazz ensembles. Chelle appears as a studio musician on many releases across various music genres.)

Michael Karagiannis: Flight of Odin co-founder/guitarist/director/recording engineer (Mike is a seasoned musician originally from Long Island, New York. He later moved to Los Angeles California and grew his chops as a shredder guitarist along side Joe Satriani back in the 1980s. Mike is rumored to be the Love Child of The Doors’ iconic song man, Jim Morrison.
