Küntsquäd (pronounced Kountskard) is a four-piece band from Melbourne, Australia, formed in 2017. Its members are experienced musicians who have previously played in several high-profile projects, with a solid collection of musical and visual releases through their past work. Since its inception, the band has maintained a rigorous gigging and touring schedule, performing at shows and festivals both locally and across Australia’s east coast cities. Their goal is to tour overseas in the near future, further building on the momentum of their self-titled debut CD released under Wormholedeath Worldwide.
The band is currently managed by Michael Lueders of Black-Roos Entertainment.

The band is best described as a crusty death metal unit, featuring distinctive guttural vocals from their female vocalist. Their sound is heavily riff-based, delivering a down-tuned churn interspersed with blast beats and fast-paced blackened interludes. Over the years, their music has evolved into an unconventional fusion of extreme and heavy metal, incorporating influences from death, black, doom, and crust, without fitting neatly into any single genre.
Lyrically, the band presents a decadent selection of satirical, darkly humorous tracks, each bearing outlandish titles and minimalist yet biting content, perfectly complementing the chaotic churn of their music.
In 2022, the band signed with Wormholedeath Records Worldwide and released their self-titled debut CD — a 14-track assault recorded and mastered by Jason Fuller (Blood Duster) at Goatsound Studios. The striking artwork and logo were created by RokArt (Sadistik Exekution).
Since its release, the debut has garnered overwhelmingly positive reviews across Australia, Europe, Japan, and the US. Tracks have appeared on playlists, received airplay on numerous metal radio shows and podcasts worldwide, and the band has been featured in both digital and print metal zines, particularly in Europe.
The CD quickly sold out its first Australian pressing, leading to a second run, and was also released in separate European and Japanese editions with an extended photo booklet. Merchandise — especially their dark art-themed shirts — has sold strongly via live shows and Bandcamp, with several designs selling out multiple times.
In 2024, the band re-signed with Wormholedeath Records Worldwide for a second release, scheduled for early 2025. Once again recorded at Goatsound Studios with Jason Fuller and Jamie Colic, the upcoming CD bears the satirical title “Satan’s Cock”, featuring the unmistakable dark and satanic artwork of Rok.
Highly anticipated by fans and supporters, the new release continues Wormholedeath’s strong backing of the band and its unique genre-defying sound. The album further solidifies their sonic identity, pushing progression in both songwriting and heaviness. Compared to the debut, it delivers an even more extreme down-tuned assault, with intricate interplay of rhythm and timing.
A core ideology of the band is to ensure that each release marks a step forward, pushing the boundaries of heaviness and originality. Staying true to this principle, the new material represents a bold progression in sound and artistic vision.
In 2024–25, the band was also featured on the Imperative Music Compilation Volume 18, celebrating the label’s 15th anniversary, alongside legendary acts such as Deicide and God Dethroned. Additionally, a limited-edition bootleg single was released in January 2025 exclusively for live shows, featuring an alternate version of the track “Eat Your Entrails”.
