MENTAL TORMENT — «ego:genesis»

The new album «ego:genesis» will include 7 tracks about the catharsis that a person goes through in a moment of despair and hopelessness, searching for answers to eternal questions, resisting the inevitable and final acceptance of their fate. The album will bring a fresh view on the traditional Doom Metal genre. From acoustic ballads and funeral vibes to sludgy and modern progressive music.

The album can be confidently recognized as heavy music. This is a kind of attempt to reimagine the genre, because this is not classical Doom-metal how you know it. This is something more voluminous, going beyond the frames and canons. An attempt to expand the boundaries of the genre, to bring something new and lively into it, while maintaining the atmosphere of the genre.

All of the above, combined with heavy riffs, melodic solos, powerful drums, atmospheric keys and emotional vocals, will keep you on your intention until the last song, making you feel the depth and complexity of the music.

The cover is an image of the end of a person’s journey. This is a metaphorical scene of transition to another stage of being. The cover shows a man wrapped in the waves of a river that will take him to another world through a shining passage. And the girl is like a goddess of fate, ready at any moment to cut the thread of life that has appeared before her.

The concept of the album is clearly illustrated within its design. The pages of the booklet are decorated with illustrations that more fully reveal the meanings and mood of the musical material.
