Heavy, brutal tones ring out from the Markgräfler grapevines. Old school grind/death metal with alemannic dialect. The band Muggeseggel from Lörrach shows how this works.
Muggeseggel is founded in May 2022. Already for a long time singer «Bruttler» plays with the idea to write Alemannic lyrics about peculiarities, characteristics or the attitude towards life in the Markgräflerland. The idea finally realized in May 2022, when drummer «Saubueb», guitarist «Trübli-Udo» and guitarist «de lieslige Karle» joined the band.
At first appearance supposedly funny and self-ironic, the music is consistently uncompromising and clearly serious. Hard guitar riffs, fast complex drum beats and brutal vocals with Alemannic dialect press with a force on the ears of the listeners like the press on grapes. Muggeseggel combines classic oldschool grind / death metal with modern sounds from the same genre.
November 2022 the first report about Muggeseggel is published in Legacy No. 141. During this time the first songs for the planned album are already written.
Finally, in March 2023, 12 songs for the upcoming album «Muggeseggel» will be recorded and produced at the Iguana Studio in Freiburg/March.
On 05.13.2023 Muggeseggel play their first concert at the SkullCrusher Fest in Freiburg at the Slowclub.
On 10.06.2023 the first album «Muggeseggel» is released via the label Kernkraftritter Records.
In 2023 and 2024 many concerts on festivals and clubs were performed. In parallel the band is writing new songs for their second album.
In December 2024 and January the band is back in the Iguana Studios in March to record their second album.
