Skalnastal is a Heavy Metal band from Tonder, Denmark. Skalnastal’s first lineup was in 2018 first based in northern Germany. With lead singer Michael Mika Tegge, the band built up anew in Denmark in 2022 after the Corona pandemic/politics with massive lockdowns over culture and (live)music in Germany from 2020- 2023.

Skalnastals first album “Lever duad üs slav” , released in 2018, had all song lyrics in frisian language, according to some frisian traditional tunes translated to heavy metal. In 2024 Skalnastal released the first EP in Denmark “Recognize Us” in a new line up. This song was written dedicated to the old native minorities in Europe. In February 2025 the second album “Saga” was released. “Saga” comes up with seven tracks out of the nordic history and mythology.

The first track “Beware” comes up with lyrics out of the old icelandic sagas and with parts of tunes of icelandic traditionals, building up to a metal inferno. All other tracks on “Saga” depend on nordic sagas and history. Skalnastal is now busy playing gigs in Denmark and Northern Germany while writing new songs. The first new single released in november 2025 is “The Dane Axe” , now available world wide on ITunes applemusic, amazon music, YouTube and alle other streaming providers.
