There comes a point in a man’s life when he’s seen too much to give a fuck anymore. Too much death, too much pain, too many lies- it either drives a man insane or gives him freedom to truly cut loose. “Lose Your Illusions”, the newest album from multi instrumentalist Uncle Hauk, is a journey through the mind of a man who has lost everything, lost any illusion that life is fair or kind, lost everything except the stubborn will to live.
“The world is on fire, but I dream of rain” sings Uncle Hauk. In an album mixing elements of post punk, metal, jazz, and more, it’s hard to even know what might come next. And yet, underneath it all, there’s still something worth fighting for.

Maybe it’s hope. Maybe it’s sheer, cussed spite. Either way, Uncle Hauk explores it in depth on “Lose Your Illusions,” out May 1st, 2026 on Bandcamp, May 2nd, 2026 on all streaming platforms.
Hauk’s previous bands include Black Hat Society, described by Ripple Music as “rather dark in nature with a nice twangy bluegrass sort of vibe» and «outlaw sort of country western style music,” and the electronic hard rock band Elf Queen, which released three albums over the course of the pandemic.

Elf Queen’s debut album “Glory to the Brave” was released on Halloween, 2021, and the follow up EP “Breathe Out Fire” was released in February 2022. In the summer of 2022, they released “Requiem” which was hailed by Metal Digest as “complete departure and a remarkable triumph that only stems from the purest emotion. Inspired by the tragedy of his fiancé’s passing, lyricist Hauk Heimdallsman created a masterful retelling of Norse Eddic poems. Not remotely a Metal album or even Rock for that matter, ‘Requiem’ is lush, orchestral and beautifully imagined. Filled with fantastic imagery, an enchanting string ensemble, and utterly arresting choral and vocal performances,this album is truly majestic.”
