Virgin Idol started as a traditional heavy metal band in 2019. They released one album in 2022, shortly after disbanding due to stylistic differences. The only remaining original member of the band is Scott Michaels, also known for his Dark Classical/Cinematic ambient work on his 2023 solo album ‘Ex Tenebris.’

Count Verdunkeln was invited into the band in Summer of 2023 as a debut vocalist due to his incredible vocal talent and artistic vision. Scott is also known for his work with Forest of Witchery (established in 2004) — particularly the “Invokation of the Ancient One” album, voted #1 independent metal album of the year in 2004 by Tower Records. He has played for a number of professional bands over the years as a session lead guitarist. Virgin Idol is inspired by Euro Thrash of the 1980s — namely, Hellhammer, Celtic Frost, Bathory, Kreator, Destruction, etc.
